We are a relatively small practice that for the successful twenty years of our existence has gradually become a more focused niche practice.

The main areas of our practice are Commercial Law, from the preparation and drafting of all types of commercial agreements to commercial litigation (High Court and Magistrates Court) and Property Law in all respects.

Johnny Henkes, the senior partner of the firm, has been in practice for a period exceeding twenty years and heads the commercial side of our practice, providing advice relating to and drafting various types of commercial contracts, including but not limited to sale agreements, leases, shareholders and members agreements, franchising, licensing, distribution and agency agreements.  Johnny also provides advice on insolvency matters relating to both liquidations and sequestrations, advice on the registration of trademarks and logo’s, unlawful competition, insurance disputes, family law matters including maintenance, custody and other types of family violence interdicts, including debt collection. We also have a specialized consultant dealing with a full range of criminal matters.

The property side of our practice has grown significantly over the last eight years and one of the partners, Charlene Nolte, focuses entirely on the conveyancing aspects, although both partners are active with regards to all matters involving Property Law through direct investments and legal advice given in this regard.

We furthermore pride ourselves on assisting our clients holistically in the property process, from advising on the conclusion of a suitable contract given each client’s individual circumstances, through to the efficient and speedy registration of the conveyancing transaction and the sourcing and approval of bonds on behalf of clients, along with the relevant motivation.

We find ourselves in an enviable position given that we are well versed in both the laws governing the legal side of property transactions as well as the practical requirements of banks, purchasers, sellers and estate agents.  We are in this regard especially able to assist clients with issues such as drafting of contracts, the drafting of pertinent special conditions and the obtaining of proper motivation for finance applications.

The small size of our firm has not stopped us from gaining significant recognition for the standard of our work.  We believe that the enthusiastic support of our wide-ranging client base on both a corporate and personal level provides a good indication of the level of commitment we have to servicing our clients and ensuring that their transactions/matters are registered and dealt with timeously and correctly.  We are very aware that the only way to achieve this is through consistently high performance in both departments and the ability to ensure that no errors, normally the cause of delays in situations such as this, occur.

Finally our small size enables our clients to interact directly with the partners.  We are always able to make ourselves available to clients for the purpose of giving advice, signing documentation and general facilitation of the entire process.
